Being involved in HYIPs for a few years now we have really been able to develop a good understanding of what type of people usually involve themselves in investing in these programs. There are 3 types of HYIP investors:
#1 - The "Lets Gamble" Investors - They will usually use HYIPs as most people use Casinos. They take a chance knowing that they have a good chance of losing. HYIPs are a form of entertainment for these people. The money put forth by these individuals is usually a sum that they can afford to lose. These investors usually stick around for a good amount of time, and for the most part lose more then they win. Like gambling HYIPs are an addiction for these people.
#2 - The "Broke Investors" - They are not in a great financial position, nor do they have an adequate job to earn a living on. These people are attracted to HYIPs, turned on by the promises of riches and financial freedom. Unfortionately they are the ones who invest far over their heads, often using money that they can not afford to lose. These people are the ones who suffer the most when a program closes, and also the ones who only last a short period of time in the arena.
#3 The "Play it Smart Investors" - These are the people who come into the arena, do substancial research and then use a strategy to earn a good return over a long period of time. Losing money in programs are common for these types of investors, but as long as other programs make up for those losses, they will continue to grow their wealth in HYIPs. These are the people who stick around in the arena for a long time, waiting for the right programs to pop up. They are the most successful of the 3 investor groups.
Before going any further, you should try to understand what type of investor group you belong to, then decide whether HYIPs are right for you.
